Ricotta Cheese Cannelloni

Ricotta Cheese Cannelloni from “A Weight Loss Guide” 181 page 

Ingredients:

400g cherry tomatoes – halved

1 tablespoon thyme

Salt & ground fresh pepper

2 garlic cloves – crushed

100 g ricotta

300 g spinach – boiled and drained

400 g tomato pulp – canned

4 cannelloni

Fry Light low-calorie cooking spray

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180C/365F/Gas4.

Start by cooking the garlic on a low heat in some Fry Light low-calorie cooking spray, add the thyme, and season well with sale and pepper.

Add the tomato pulp and cook for a further 10 minutes. 

Meanwhile, in a separate bowl place the ricotta, add the boiled spinach and mix well with a fork. 

Fill the cannelloni with the ricotta and spinach mixture (leave extra mixture aside).

Place the cannelloni in the oven dish and pour the prepared tomato sauce over them. Add the extra ricotta and spinach mixture evenly over the top and place some cherry tomatoes.

Transfer to the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until cooked through.

To serve, place the cannelloni onto a plate and serve with one of your preferred side dishes from this book.

Ingredients: 

200g chicken mince

1/2 broccoli

1/2 cauliflower

1 spring onion

1 box cherry tomatoes

1 tablespoon mustard

3 egg whites

Fry Light Low-Calorie Spray

Method:

Boil some water and blanch the broccoli and cauliflower for a few minutes until tender. Remove some of the water. 

Add all the ingredients to the broccoli, cauliflower, and their water and mix well together. 

Prepare a medium-sized oven dish and spray with Fry Light Calorie Spray.

Pour the mixture into the dish and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

Potato and Marrow Cakes

Potato and Marrow Cakes from “The Weight Loss Guide” 176 page

Ingredients:

350g potatoes

3 marrows – grated

Salt & pepper

1/2 cabbage – finely grated

1 tablespoon flour

Fry Light low-calorie cooking spray

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4

Boil the potatoes in salted water until cooked. Drain, mash, and leave to cook.

Place the cabbage in boiling water and cook for a few minutes. Drain and leave to cool.

Blend together the cooked potato, grated marrows, and cabbage. Fold in the flour until the mixture comes away from the side of the bowl. Turn the mixture on to a cold surface and shape into cakes.

Spray some Fry Light low-calorie cooking spray in an oven dish and place the cakes in the dish. Cook for 20-30 minutes in the oven.

Serve with one of your preferred side dishes from this book.

Pippa Xuereb Lost 26 Kilos With Marion Mizzi Wellbeing Programme

Pippa lost 26 kilos! She is sharing her story with us.  

My success journey started when my dear friend suggested Marion Mizzi Wellbeing Slimming Club at the Palace Hotel in Sliema. 

I was a person who was living to eat, but not eating to live. I was nibbling a lot. I was feeling bad to undress in front of my partner. It was hard to put my shoes on… And all those things made me unhappy. Until I step into Marion Mizzi Slimming Club.

My weight was 93,1, and now I am 66,9 kilos I lost 26 kilos with Marion Mizzi programme. I had achieved what I wanted.

I am 62 years old, and I have always had a weight problem. I tried many different diets but could have reached only temporary results, and all the time, my lost weight was coming back. I couldn’t maintain the menu as a lifestyle until I started the Marion Mizzi programme.

The programme is the combination of the fantastic recipes (I didn’t have to refuse my favourite meals). Also, the staff always gives motivation and support, and I should mention amazing treatments that help inch-loss, fat, and cellulite reduction.

RECIPE BOOKS & AND MEALS TO DIE FOR

I started with the purple book, “A Journey To A Happy You.” The recipes are to die for. Once I did a cabbage pie, my husband and my son in law were disappointed that they would not be going to eat it.

The recipes are delicious, and it’s like you are eating regular food. It’s not only vegetables and grilled chicken, or salad every day as it wouldn’t last. It’s the combination of all food I like but in a healthy and calorie-counted way. You are not getting bored with this. I have used a lot of different recipes from 3 different Marion Mizzi books, they are excellent, have a strong taste, have many spices, and are not expensive to prepare. I was very strict to the recipes, If it’s written that I cannot add something, I have never added.

Whoever I showed this book they asked me: is it a DIET book?

HELPFUL STAFF

What I like about the programme that I was getting support anytime I needed it. The therapist always asked what I have cooked today, and they are motivating not to stick on one recipe not to get bored. They can always suggest some recipes that they were cooking! 

SLIMMING TREATMENTS & AMAZING DIP INTO THE POOL! 

My favourite treatment is Muscle Stimulation, and I found it very useful. It’s best to include different treatments, as when you are losing weight, you need to reduce that flatness that you are getting.

Furthermore, one is always motivated to lose weight, with free treatments as facial or slimming sessions.

However, it’s incredible that Marion’s Slimming club in Sliema, has a steam room and the pool. I love to wake up in the morning and start my day in the swimming pool and steam room.

 L-CARNITINE

The tablets are excellent. I found out that the older one gets, the metabolism does slow down. And the pills help to speed it up. (The L-Carnitine is a natural product which will help you to boost metabolism)

Meaty Omelette

Marion Mizzi Diet Tip: 

Approach this weight loss programme with passion and enthusiasm. While dieting try to reflect and discover yourself.

MEATY OMELETTE

Ingredients:

100g ground beef

3 garlic cloves – minced

1 onion – diced

2 tomatoes – chopped

10 mushrooms

1 potato (100g) – diced

1/2 cup water (optional)

1 egg, at room temperature

2 egg whites

Fry Light Low-Calorie Spray

Method:

Brown ground meat for about 5 to 7 minutes in a skillet over medium heat.

Drain excess fat.

Stir in garlic until fragrant. Add onion and tomatoes. Stir – fry for a few minutes or until soft and wilted.

Add diced potato and water (optional – the water allows the potato to cook).

Cook covered for about 6 to 10 minutes, string occasionally until potatoes are tender and most of the water (if any) has evaporated. Remove from heat. 

Transfer to a large bowl and let cool completely. Set aside. 

Meanwhile, beat egg and egg whites. Pour onto cooled meat mixture.

Adjust seasonings.

Spray some Fry Light Low-Calorie Spray in a skillet about to cover the bottom. 

Spoon 1/2 cup op the egg-meat mixture into the skillet. Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

Sautéed Cauliflower And Anchovies

Marion Mizzi Diet Tip: 

Vegetables are extremely important. Consume about one and a half kilos of vegetables a day using the varied recipes indicated in the weight loss programme. One can increase this amount according to his or her appetite. You can consume these vegetables in two or three portions during the day. 

Ingredients:

1 cauliflower – cut into florets

2 tablespoons water

2 teaspoons red wine vinegar

1 cup cherry tomatoes – halved

2 tablespoons fresh parsley – chopped

1 tablespoon garlic – minced

4 anchovy fillets – minced (optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

6 slices Slimex bread – toasted

Fry Light Low-Calorie Spray

Method:

Spray a pan with Fry Light Low-Calorie Spray. Add the cauliflower, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes. Add water and vinegar, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and tender and the liquid had evaporated, for about 4 more minutes. Add the tomatoes, parsley, garlic, anchovies (optional), salt and pepper.

Cook, while stirring, for about 2 more minutes, until the garlic is soft. Serve the sauteed cauliflower with the toasted Slimex bread slices.

Pasta Salad With Tuna

Marion Mizzi Diet Tip: 

Dieting is not as difficult as most of us imagine. It is by far more difficult to live with that extra weight than to diet. Courage and discipline are important elements to achieve your goals. 

PASTA SALAD WITH TUNA

Ingredients:

1 large can Elite Tuna in brine – drained (160g)

1 big can red peppers in brine or vinegar – rinsed and sliced (2/3 cup)

1/2 cup red onion – finely chopped

2 carrots – grated

2 marrows – grated

2 tablespoons capers – rinsed and coarsely chopped

2 tablespoons Benna Natural Light Yogurt

2 tablespoons fresh basil – chopped

2 tablespoon vinegar

1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

1 small garlic clove – crushed and peeled

2/8 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Freshly ground pepper (to taste)

50g penne or 2 packets of Slim Pasta Penne

Method:

Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packet. Meanwhile, combine the Elite tuna, 1/3 cup red peppers, onion (or scallion), and capers in a large bowl. Add the grated vegetables to the mixture. Combine the Benna yogurt, basil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, and the remaining 1/3 cup red peppers in a blender or food processor.

Puree until smooth.

Add the tuna mixture with the drained pasta along with the red pepper sauce, and toss to coat.

Aubergine Bake

Marion Mizzi Diet Tip: 

One should never include margarine, butter, or oil in the recipes since these ingredients are high in fat and calories. 

AUBERGINE BAKE

Ingredients:

1 aubergine – washed and trimmed

1 red pepper – deseeded and diced

1 red onion – sliced

1 garlic clove – crushed

1 can of Astra Polpa

A handful of fresh basil – chopped finely

2 eggs

Salt & ground black pepper

Fry Light Low Calorie Spray

Method:

Preheat the oven to 200C.

Cut the aubergine and peppers into even-sized chunks and place in an ovenproof dish. Add the onion, garlic, spray with Fry Light Low Calorie Spray, season, and toss to mix.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Remove the dish from the oven, stir in the tomatoes and basil.

Make a space in the center of the vegetable mixture and crack the eggs in the center.

Cover the dish with foil. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the egg is cooked to your liking.

7 Fruits You Should Eat At Least Once a Week

Sauteed Spinach & Mushrooms

If you love easy to make vegetables with lots of flavours you are going to love this dish.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 small onion – chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves – chopped
  • 400 g fresh mushrooms – sliced
  • 280g clean fresh spinach – roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • fresh parsley – chopped (to garnish)

METHOD:

Heat some Fry Light Low Calorie Spray in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Saute the onion and the garlic until tender. Add the mushrooms and fry until they begin to shrink for about 3 to 4 minutes. Toss in the spinach and fry, stirring constantly for a few minutes, or until it is absorbed, then stir in the white wine. 

Reduce heat to low, and simmer until the wine is almost completely absorbed. 

Season with salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle with fresh parsley. 

Serve hot.
